Chamizal National Memorial is sponsoring a free one hour story-time program for preschool children. The program will provide children an opportunity to hear stories about friendship, peace, and diplomacy. There are limited accommodations for participation and the public is asked to call in advance for reservations.

Cliff Dwelling Guided Tours
Guided tours of the Cliff Dwellings are offered twice daily, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and once daily, at 12:00 p.m. (noon), the remainder of the year. Please note that the tours start at the Cliff Dwellings and it takes about one half hour to walk up to the Cliff Dwellings from the trailhead. Visitors are free to tour the Cliff Dwellings on their own anytime during park hours. Visitor hours at the Cliff Dwellings are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the remainder of the year.

Daily Animal Encounters
Daily Animal Encounters include California Sea Lion Training and Meet the Keeper presentations at 11:00am and 3:00pm and Asian Elephant Training presentations at noon. Other Animal Encounters are scheduled at various times and days during the week including Golden Eagle Encounters, Spider Monkey Encounters, Sumatran Orangutan Encounters, Galapagos Tortoise Encounters, Meerkat Encounters and more. Check your map insert when you arrive for times and locations. Because our exhibits are always changing some animals may not be on exhibit when you come to the Zoo. All presentations are subject to cancellation without notice.

Daily Demonstrations
Demonstrations are part of what makes our museum unique. On Monday through Saturday, see a cow being milked and learn about the importance of dairy products to New Mexico's economy and the health of her citizens. Times: 11 am and 3 pm, Sundays at 3pm. The production of fabrics and clothing from raw materials has always required skill and patience. Sewing, spinning, weaving and embroidery are among the traditional handcrafts you will see produced at the museum. Quilting: Thursday and Fridays, 9 am to noon; Sewing: Wednesdays, 9 am to 1 pm; and Spinning and Weaving: Wednesdays, 9 am to 1pm. Blacksmithing: Here you can watch metal being formed into useful objects--right before your eyes. Friday and Saturday, 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm. Sunday, noon to 4 pm. The Dona Ana Woodcarvers are here demonstrating woodworking and leatherworking on the first Saturday of each month from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Please call for current schedules to see the Parade of Breeds--all the extraordinary beef cattle breeds that reside at the Museum, and for demonstrations of Heritage Cooking.
